Here I am in Mississauga on day 4 of Richard's leave. He arrived home on Thursday evening and boy, was Yellow happy to see him! Okay, me too!
We took it pretty easy Thursday and Friday, then Saturday night we went out for a birthday celebration (mine of course!). We met up with 5 of our friends at the bowling alley and had an absolute ball (that was a pun...did you get it?). If I was a gold member I would put up a great group shot -I'm still working on that one. I can't say who won or lost, we all just played for fun. After that it was off to my favourite restaurant in the Petawawa-Pembroke area, Josef's Station. There was a man with a guitar entertaining us that evening, who had the amazing ability to sound like whoever he was singing. If he sand a Barenaked Ladies tune, he sounded just like them. Likewise for Dave Matthews and the Tragically Hip. It was uncanny. A few crayons, paper and ceasars later we were laughing and having a great time. The singer mentioned that he was trying to play songs that made the ladies feel like donating articals of clothing. I offered a sock (my lucky bowling sock from England at that!!) for a Gordon Lightfoot tune. It was worth it. Later I opened a few gifts, and though I won't go through them all I will tell you about one in particular. Slinky. That's right....Slinky. Well, being on the second floor of the bar I was, of course, dying to try it out. It is one of the original ones, you know, the metal kind that make that unique slinky sound as they go down the stairs. It was an absolute riot.
After a seemingly longer than usual Sunday drive to the 'Sauga', we are taking it very easy today (Monday). We have been searching for last minute vacation deals but so far haven't come up with anything. The fact that we don't have a full week available makes things difficult. I'll let you know what we come up with. There isn't much planned for this week. I would like to have dinner in Port Credit with my Gran and also invite my dad and his family. Then on Friday I am going Salsa dancing come hell or high water.
