Monday, Aug. 04, 2003 - 11:52 a.m. It's been a while since my last entry. The truth is that I have been a bit lazy. Richard has been in Afghanistan for a week now, and I have been writing him everyday. That is why I have been lazy to duplicate it here. Sorry everyone..... Richard's parents came to see him off last week, arriving on Friday evening. We went out for dinner at my favourite restaurant in Pembroke and had a wonderful time. I enjoy his parents a great deal. Saturday morning we were up very early to see Rich to the buses. All around us there were wives, children and girlfriends in tears. I really felt so sad for them and wished I had words to make it a little easier. Everyone's situation is different. The four of us talked for a while then we said our goodbye's. Richard made me promise to be good (aw, nuts). After that he was on a bus, passing by us as his mother waved. And then there were three. We had breakfast at the mess after that. I was a bit nervous (as I always am around them), but it went really well. They dropped me off at home shortly after breakfast and headed back to Mississauga. And then there was one. The most difficult adjustment has been getting used to no one being in the house. There isn't very much to do in Pet and Rich made things fun (even though it drove me up the wall). I miss him being silly. I'm not all that sad about him being gone though. He has been out of my life so much over the last 7 years (and on courses since October), that you could say I have been in training for these occassions. I'm glad because it puts me in a good position to help others. Work has gotten so much better that I am actually going to miss it when it is over. There are only three more weeks left. The group of children that we have right now work very well together. I have been having a lot of fun with them. Robin, Chelsie and I have been talking to each other a lot more and that has made me feel much better. I recently bought a new camera from Sears and have been going out with Yellow quite a bit to take pictures. She is such a ham! Well, I do have a couple of stories to tell, but I think I will leave things here for now. Tune in next time for the story of.....Yellow, Buzzin' n' Hornets Same diary time...same diary channel!
