Maw-maw, mom, me and Jayde went to vistit my grandma yesturday. It was a bit of a drive but my Maw-maw really enjoyed the visit, and that's what counts. What I'm loving about this whole family time thing is the hugs. How often do you get one of those really great, all encompassing grandma hugs full of love and wisdom? Not often enough I bet. Well, I'm certainly all filled up with them now!
It's interesting as well to listen to them, sitting in a sort of women's circle, talking about how aging has affected them. "Golden Years my ass" is pretty much the concensus. I am now more committed to eating healthy foods and regular exercise.
This will be my last night here at the homestead. My last night in the tent on the hill under the stars. I'm ready to go though. Although I have only been in Pet for a month, I realize now how much it had become home. I long for my bed, my couch, my kitchen and playing softball - not to mention continuing to build on my volunteering. The book I ordered on how to write your novel is waiting for me at the post office too! Besides that, training for summer camp is coming up. I've been practicing the guitar like mad. I hope they like me!
Right, on to the last day. Be good, be yourself and learn at least one bad joke today! If you need one, I got lots. Ask anybody!
